F.Y.P, short for Five Year Plan, was a punk rock band formed in 1989 by Todd Congelliere. The band was known for its raw, fast-paced sound and marked the precursor to Congelliere’s later bands Toys That Kill and Underground Railroad to Candyland. Throughout its existence from 1989 to 1999, F.Y.P saw a revolving door of 20 different members, with Congelliere as the consistent driving force.

History

Initially starting as a one-man project, Congelliere used a Fisher Price drum machine to provide the rhythm for his early recordings. The band’s sound grew over the years as additional members joined, resulting in a raw, energetic style that became synonymous with the DIY ethos of punk rock.

By 1999, F.Y.P disbanded, but in 2012, Congelliere reunited with original member Sean Cole and two other members of Toys That Kill, bassist Casey (Chachi) Ferrara and drummer Mike “Jimmy Jackets” Felix, to perform as F.Y.P for a series of shows. Despite the reunion, by 2015 Congelliere ceased performing under the F.Y.P name once again.
