Johnny Hobo And The Freight Trains

Johnny Hobo and the Freight Trains hailed from southern Vermont, presenting a unique blend of nihilistic folk-punk. Rather than hopping freight trains, the band preferred enjoying forties by the train tracks, away from police interference. Solo acoustic performances dominated most shows, but the full lineup featured members like Flash-C (trumpet), Ian Skumfuck (washtub bass), Jeff-face (harmonica), Roman (bicycle), Michael Jordan (drums), and Wyatt (harmonica) at different times.

Musical Journey and Disappearance

The band’s final performance occurred in 2007, leaving behind a distinctive musical journey. Physical copies of their music are no longer available for order, but various online torrents and pirated sources offer access. Johnny Hobo and the Freight Trains openly supported the act of pirating their music, encouraging fans to share and enjoy it freely.

Pat “The Bunny” and Musical Evolution

Lead songwriter Pat “The Bunny” (Pat Schneeweis) continued his musical journey, exploring similar sounds with less destructive lyrical content in Wingnut Dishwashers Union. However, in late 2009, he entered rehab to address drug addiction issues. Emerging from a year-long rehabilitation program, Schneeweis contributed vocals, lyrics, and guitar to the Tucson-based folk-punk band Ramshackle Glory. Additionally, he released solo music under the name Pat the Bunny before eventually departing from both the band and the anarcho-punk scene.
