Beer7

Beer7 (ביר7) is a lively Ska punk band hailing from Be’er Sheva, Israel. The name Beer7 cleverly nods to their hometown, with “Sheva” meaning seven in Hebrew. Formed in 2001, the band quickly made a name for themselves on the Israeli punk scene with their energetic performances and engaging tunes. Their debut album, Skandal, recorded in 2003 and released through the indie label “Ra records”, sold out rapidly and was later uploaded online.

Performances & Achievements

Beer7 performs all over Israel, playing at punk festivals, clubs, and pubs. They have shared stages with well-known Israeli bands such as Useless ID, Sartan HaShad, Kuku Bloff veHayetushim, Beat 69, and even the Australian band Yidcore. Their music video for the Operation Ivy tribute, The Radio’s Not a Friend, reached first place on the Israeli music video channel Music 24. The band is currently recording their second album, Birat Ha’Negev.

Beer7 in the Israeli Punk Scene

Before Dafna Arad joined Beer7, there were few women on stage at Israeli punk rock shows. Her prominent role sparked a vibrant girl scene, inspiring and paving the way for all-girl bands like Va’adat Kishut, Phoney Pony, and CUBAN B.
