Children 18:3
Children 18:3 are an American Christian punk band from Morris, Minnesota, formed in 1999 and featuring homeschooled siblings on vocals, guitar, and drums.
History
Originally started in 1999 as a five-piece ska band, Children 18:3 quickly evolved into a punk rock outfit after the departure of their early horn players. By 2001, with several lineup changes, the band solidified when David and Seth Hostetter recruited their sister Lee Marie to fill the bass position. In 2004 they recorded an EP, Places I Don’t Want To Go, which led to winning a local music tournament and earning free recording time. Their follow-up EP, Songs of Desperation, was released in 2006. The band caught the attention of Tooth & Nail Records CEO Brandon Ebel and was signed in January 2008, releasing their self-titled debut album on February 26, 2008.
Following their debut, the band toured extensively and played major festivals. Their sophomore album, Rain’s a Comin’ (2010), was recorded after extensive touring across North America and Europe, with a listening party hosted on Jesus Freak Hideout. In late 2011/early 2012 they recorded their third album, On the Run, which was released on June 19, 2012. The band followed up with Come In on April 21, 2015. Although the group stated that Come In would be their final album, they continue to perform shows and maintain an active presence online. Beginning in 2020, frontman David Hostetter also began releasing singles as a solo artist under the name David Hostetter Jr.
