Consorzio Suonatori Indipendenti
Consorzio Suonatori Indipendenti (C.S.I.; English: Consortium of Independent Players) was an Italian band that emerged from the punk/art band CCCP Fedeli alla linea.
Formation and Evolution
C.S.I. was founded in 1992 by Giovanni Lindo Ferretti and Massimo Zamboni, who were previously part of CCCP, alongside original members of the band Litfiba. The band’s name came from the political changes following the fall of the Berlin Wall, with “CSI” representing the Italian acronym for the newly established Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). The earlier band’s name, CCCP, had referenced the Cyrillic spelling of the USSR, which had been mistakenly pronounced by peasants in their native region of Emilia Romagna.
Following Zamboni’s departure in 2000, the remaining members of C.S.I. carried on under the new name *Per Grazia Ricevuta*, marking the end of C.S.I. in 2001.
