Endpoint

Endpoint

Endpoint was a hardcore band from Louisville, Kentucky, formed in 1988. The songs often confronted social and political issues. The group built a regional following, pressed records with key indie labels, and toured the United States and Europe before a final hometown blowout to end their run.

How The Band Got Started

The band began in 1988 under the name Deathwatch. That early phase produced one recording, a split 7-inch with fellow Louisville band Crain, issued posthumously in 1991. In 1988 the group adopted the name Endpoint and, with most of the original lineup, released a 17-song cassette on Slamdek Record Company in May 1989 titled If the Spirits Are Willing. After that release, a new rhythm section joined. The band wrote In a Time of Hate, which was delayed in production and released in early 1991 by Conversion Records. The next year brought Catharsis on Doghouse Records.

Activity and Final Show

Endpoint released two more records and toured the United States extensively, then crossed to Europe between 1992 and 1994. In 1994 the band decided to call it quits. On December 31 they played a final and largest show in Louisville before more than two thousand people. In 1995 they issued a closing statement titled The Last Record on Doghouse Records.

Reunion

Endpoint reunited in 2010 for two benefit shows supporting Jason Noble of Rodan after his cancer diagnosis.
