Biography

1996

The band’s inception came about when Wednesday 13, alongside friends and former Maniac Spider Trash bandmates Seaweed and Sicko Zero, formed Frankenstein Drag Queens from Planet 13. They wasted no time, quickly crafting their debut album The Late, Late, Late Show, a visceral collection of nihilistic horror punk tracks that set the tone for their future endeavors.

1997–1998

Despite lineup changes and internal conflicts, the band persisted, reforming in 1997 with Seaweed back on bass alongside new members. Together, they released a demo EP and embarked on a journey of creative exploration, culminating in their sophomore album Night of the Living Drag Queens.

1999

As the millennium approached, the band delved deeper into horror-themed territory with their third album Songs From the Recently Deceased. Simultaneously, they treated fans to limited singles, showcasing their versatility and dedication to their craft.

2000

Securing a European record deal, Frankenstein Drag Queens from Planet 13 expanded their reach, re-releasing their earlier works to a broader audience. However, internal tensions led to lineup changes, reflecting the band’s tumultuous journey.

Viva Las Violence

In their final chapter, the band unleashed Viva Las Violence, a departure from their punk roots towards a more hard rock-centered sound. Despite the evolution, the band’s essence remained intact as they continued to push boundaries and captivate audiences.

Wednesday 13 Joins the Murderdolls

Following their disbandment in 2002, Wednesday 13 embarked on a new chapter, joining the Murderdolls and further solidifying his status as a force to be reckoned with in the realm of horror-infused music.

Frankenstein Drag Queens Reformation

In a nostalgic reunion, Frankenstein Drag Queens from Planet 13 reunited briefly in 2005, releasing a comprehensive box set and delighting fans with their signature blend of horror and punk. While their journey had its share of twists and turns, their impact on the genre remains undeniable.
