Redemption 87
Redemption 87, an East Bay hardcore punk band, featured former members of Unit Pride, Skankin’ Pickle, and Token Entry. Notably, it also included individuals who would later contribute to AFI and the Nerve Agents.
Musical Vision
The band’s primary objective was to reclaim “hardcore” from its crossover heavy metal influence and steer it back to its punk origins. Drawing inspiration from New York hardcore acts like Youth of Today, Sick of It All, Warzone, and Gorilla Biscuits, Redemption 87 sought to preserve the essence of punk in the hardcore genre.
Discography

Some of these songs found a place in their self-titled first album released in 1997, featuring a total of 13 tracks. Their final album, All Guns Poolside, hit the shelves in 1999, boasting 13 songs, including covers of tracks by Cro-mags, Negative Approach, and Bad Brains.
Evolution and Dissolution
In 1999, Redemption 87 disbanded. Post-dissolution, Jade Puget joined AFI, contributing to the band’s future endeavors. Simultaneously, Eric Ozenne went on to form The Nerve Agents, continuing the musical journey initiated by Redemption 87.
