Brother’s Keeper was an American metalcore band from Erie, Pennsylvania, known for their distinctive vocal style and influential role in the local hardcore scene.

History

Formation and Local Impact

Formed in 1994 by members of various local bands, Brother’s Keeper quickly became a central figure in the Erie hardcore punk and metalcore community. Together with contemporaries such as xDISCIPLEx A.D., Digression, and Neverfall, they fostered a strong musical community. The band’s sound was notably marked by the unique vocal delivery of frontman Mike Ski, setting them apart in the scene.

Recordings and Label

Throughout their active years, Brother’s Keeper released a robust catalog of music including five full-length CDs and several 7″ records. Between 1996 and their breakup in 2003, they were signed to Trustkill Records. In early 2001, they also featured on the compilation It’s All About The Money, co-released by Surprise Attack Records, Goodfellow Records, and Redstar Records.
